About Lisbon International Airport
Lisbon Airport is located 7km (4 miles) from Lisbon city centre. The airport consists of 2 terminals, the first for international flights, and the second terminal (opened in August 2007) serves domestic flights, and an expansion of the main terminal is still ongoing. A new runway is also being planned. Free shuttles run between the two terminals.
There are short- and long-term parking options. P1 and P2 are short-term car parks with direct access to the terminal. P1 is located near Departures and P2 is next to Arrivals. P3 is a long-term outdoor car park. The short- and long-term car parks are located to the right of the terminal at the entrance to the airport. A free airport bus shuttle service links the car parks and the terminals.
Lisbon is the capital of Portugal and lies on the north bank of the Tagus Estuary, on the European Atlantic coast. It is the westernmost city in continental Europe. Greater Lisbon has an area of approximately 1,000 km2. The city lies more or less in the centre of the country, approximately 300 km from the Algarve in the south and 400 km from the northern border with Spain. Lisbon offers a wide variety of activities, including beaches, countryside, mountains and areas of historical interest only a few miles away from the city centre.
Lisbon has a pleasant climate throughout the year. The agreeable temperatures in the summer months are an open invitation for a walk by the river, or to spend an afternoon in one of the many street cafés to be found all over the city. Although the temperatures may fall somewhat in the autumn and winter months, sunshine is almost always a constant feature.
